San Crispino Historic Mansion is the perfect place if you wish to spend an unforgettable stay in a real medieval ambience, with all modern facilities, right in the historic centre of Assisi, the city of St. Francis.

A few steps from St. Clare’s square, walking down along via S. Agnese, you will see an old stone arch dating back to the 14th century on your left, a big18th century wooden door, built according to the Franciscan style.

Above the beautiful arch you can admire a fresco dating back to 1330: the fresco portraits a Madonna with the Baby between St. Francis and St. Clare and two other Saints, St. Biagio and St. John The Baptist, painted by the same painter who decorated the Closter of San Damiano, which is probably the most important religious monument in the whole Franciscan history.

From San Crispino, this old beautiful medieval Inn whose location and view are simply unique, you can admire the wonderful façade of the Basilica of St.Clare on your left, the apse of St. Maria Maggiore on your right, the Chiesa Nuova and San Rufino Cathedral’s domes right in front. You can even admire the big fortress on the top of the hill and the wide green Umbrian valley from every window, terrace and garden.

If you come inside and close the heavy wooden door behind you, you lose the understanding of the meaning of space and time.
